At the 2025 premiere of America’s Got Talent, 23-year-old street performer Jourdan Blue delivered an unforgettable rendition of The Script’s “Breakeven,” earning him Howie Mandel’s first Golden Buzzer of the season. Hailing from New Orleans, Jourdan shared his emotional journey—once homeless as a teen, he now supports his girlfriend and young son, Jax, by singing nightly on the same Bourbon Street corner that was tragically struck by a terror attack earlier this year .

With his grandfather watching via FaceTime backstage, Jourdan poured his heart into the performance, moving the judges and audience alike. Sofia Vergara called him a “rockstar,” while Mel B said it felt like hearing the song for the first time. Howie Mandel, visibly touched, declared, “I think your name is gonna be on the lips of everybody watching this,” before pressing the Golden Buzzer.

Overwhelmed, Jourdan fell to his knees in tears as gold confetti rained down, marking a life-changing moment for the young artist .
