You full-throatedly in your closing arguments told the jury that there was violence here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The judge outlined the disturbing 2016 surveillance\u00a0footage from the Inter-Continental hotel\u00a0involving Combs\u2019 brutal assault on\u00a0Cassandra \u201cCassie\u201d Ventura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere was the London Hotel incident. There was violence after the searches in this case,\u201d Judge Subramanian added, referring to the raids on Combs\u2019 properties in Beverly Hills and Miami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs to Jane, there was June 2024 after the searches of Combs\u2019 residences. This evidences a disregard for the law and a propensity for violence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marc Agnifilo, Combs\u2019 lead defense attorney, urged the judge to reconsider his ruling, saying his client had been working to \u201cbetter himself\u201d before he was arrested in September 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe is a man who\u2019s in the process of working on himself,\u201d Agnifilo said, adding that Combs has been a \u201cmodel prisoner\u201d since his arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI just think we should trust him. He\u2019s not going to flee.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agnifilo told the judge that Combs would wish to speak with him, but the offer seemingly went unnoticed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Judge Subramanian rejected the defense\u2019s pleas to release their client and reaffirmed that the bail application was denied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Combs hung his head as he was escorted out of the courtroom by US Marshals, who will transport him back to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before he left the courtroom, Combs faced his family and told them \u201cWe\u2019re gonna make it through this. I\u2019ll see you when I get out,\u201d according to\u00a0CNN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI love you all. Be strong.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SPLIT VERDICT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A jury acquitted\u00a0Combs\u00a0on Wednesday of the most serious charges he faced \u2013 racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking in regards to\u00a0Ventura\u00a0and \u201cJane,\u201d a pseudonym used for one of Combs\u2019 ex-girlfriends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The verdict came minutes into the start of the third day of deliberations and less than 24 hours after jurors initially reached a split verdict on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The charges Combs was convicted of, two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, carry a maximum 10-year prison sentence each and no minimum, meaning\u00a0he could potentially walk free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Racketeering conspiracy carried a life sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Combs pumped his right fist in celebration and embraced his family and defense counsel after the jury acquitted him of the most serious charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He smiled, put his hands together in prayer, and mouthed to the jury, \u201cThank you.
