ELO fans were booted out of Manchester\u2019s&nbsp;Co-op&nbsp;Live arena after the gig was cancelled just minutes before the band were due to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thousands of ticketholders were left disappointed when they were informed that the performance would not be going ahead tonight. A fan who was at Wednesday night\u2019s gig exclusively told The&nbsp;Mirror: \u201cAt the start of the set he came on and couldn\u2019t play the guitar because he has injured his hand. He sounded shaky to begin with but his singing and energy picked up and was great until the last 10 minutes of the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA chair was brought onto the stage and he had to sit down to sing the last few songs, he appeared to be unsteady on his feet at the end and was helped off the stage by staff. He really wasn\u2019t well, it was obvious to fans at the gig he wasn\u2019t himself and it is sad to see.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/article35536952.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_Radio-2-In-Concert.jpg\" alt=\"Jeff Lynne shared a sad health update with fans in Manchester\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Jeff Lynne shared a sad health update with fans in Manchester(Image: BBC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jeff took to X to an announce that the show had been cancelled \u201cdue to illness\u201d and that Jeff was \u201cdevastated\u201d that he could not perform. \u201cUnfortunately due to illness, tonight\u2019s scheduled performance of Jeff Lynne\u2019s ELO at the Co-op Live will not be going ahead. Jeff is devastated he cannot perform this evening,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMore information will become available as soon as possible. For refunds please go to your point of purchase,\u201d the statement continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fans soon took to social media to share their upset, with one writing: \u201cTonight\u2019s ELO concert cancelled at 8.10 pm. Jeff Lynne too ill. Devastated. Hope he\u2019s ok. Had tickets since December.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTHEY CANCELLED ELO TONIGHT BECAUSE JEFF IS ILL????? That\u2019s tragic,\u201d posted another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The band performed their the first night of their Manchester leg last night, with Jeff revealing that he injured his hand while in London. \u201cI was in London and a taxi dashed off from where he was coming from and smashed my hand. It really hurt at the time. That\u2019s why I haven\u2019t got a guitar \u2013 I normally would have,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ticketholders for the Over and Out tour claimed they were informed the performance would not be going ahead just minutes before the band was due to take to the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Concerns were raised over how people could be refunded for their expenses, after also booking travel and accommodation.
