It was a fitting tribute to a true visionary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his time with The Beatles, George Harrison\u2019s incredible talents were often overlooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps understandable when the group\u2019s driving force was the songwriting partnership between John Lennon and Paul McCartney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pair wrote 180 songs for The Beatles across the band\u2019s eight year existence, many of which charted and many of which became number one singles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commercial success is one thing, but their music changed the hearts and minds of millions around the world, and continues to do so today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

George possessed immense talent himself. But it wasn\u2019t until he went solo that his reputation flourished, as the people that knew he had more astounding songs within him could finally hear them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That proved to be the case with his debut solo single \u2018My Sweet Lord\u2019, the first song he released as a solo artist which also became his biggest hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After George\u2019s death on 29th November 2001, it proved to be the perfect song for his former bandmates and dear friends to pay tribute to him a year later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite writing several of The Beatles\u2019 most beloved songs in \u2018Something\u2019, \u2018Here Comes The Sun\u2019 and \u2018While My Guitar Gently Weeps\u2019, George\u2019s contributions were usually pushed out in favour of the Lennon-McCartney songwriting machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His first album as a solo artist, All Things Must Pass<\/em>, featured many of the songs that didn\u2019t make the final cut for any of The Beatles albums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Released in 1970, the album was a triple album \u2013 a obvious indication of how many songs George had in the vault begging to be heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was \u2018My Sweet Lord\u2019 that George decided to release as a first single to signify a new era of his music career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
