Seattle rock legends HEART<\/strong> performed during the first intermission of the National Hockey League<\/strong> (NHL<\/strong>) game between the Seattle Kraken<\/strong> and the Vegas Golden Knights<\/strong> at T-Mobile Park on January 1, 2024 in Seattle, Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ann<\/strong> and Nancy Wilson<\/strong>, along with their backing musicians, consisting of four members of Ann<\/strong>\u2018s band TRIPSITTER<\/strong> \u2014 guitarist Ryan Wariner<\/strong>, bassist Tony Lucido<\/strong>, guitarist\/keyboardist Paul Moak<\/strong> and drummer Sean Lane<\/strong> \u2014 plus guitarist Ryan Waters<\/strong>, who was in HEART<\/strong>\u2018s 2019 touring lineup, played the classic HEART<\/strong> songs \u201cBarracuda\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cMagic Man\u201d<\/strong>. Also appearing at the event was Sir Mix-A-Lot<\/strong>, who performed \u201cJump On It\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, HEART<\/strong> played its first three concerts in more than four years \u2014 in Highland, California, at Greater Palm Springs in Palm Desert, California, and in Seattle, Washington,.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to HEART<\/strong>\u2018s December 27 show in Highland, the band\u2019s last performance took place in October 2019 in St. Paul, Minnesota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a recent interview with the 96.1 KLPX<\/strong> radio station, HEART<\/strong>\u2018s Ann Wilson<\/strong>, who has been working on solo projects, and in September of this year released the album \u201cAnother Door\u201d<\/strong>, billed as ANN WILSON & TRIPSITTER<\/strong>, stated about HEART<\/strong>\u2018s reunion concerts: \u201cWe\u2019re gonna see how it works with the HEART<\/strong> thing, whether it feels like a level up. If it does feel like a level up, then we\u2019ll keep doing it. But that\u2019s what it has to be. It can\u2019t just slide down into jukebox time\u2026 It\u2019s gotta be real. No going through the motions. No phoning it in. No just getting on some kind of circuit just to take people\u2019s money and play the old songs again and again and again. No, we\u2019re gonna make it cool, really make it cool.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ann<\/strong>\u2018s sister, HEART<\/strong> guitarist Nancy Wilson<\/strong> made a surprise appearance during Ann<\/strong>\u2018s concert on October 10, 2023 in Santa Rosa, California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nancy<\/strong> joined her sister and TRIPSITTER<\/strong> on stage at the Luther Burbank Center For The Arts in Nancy<\/strong>\u2018s hometown to perform the HEART<\/strong> classic \u201cBarracuda\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last June, Nancy<\/strong> revealed in an interview with Joe Rock<\/strong> of Long Island, New York\u2019s rock station 102.3 WBAB that she was working on fresh music with Ann<\/strong>. The 69-year-old musician, who has spent some of the recent months on tour with her new band NANCY WILSON\u2019S HEART<\/strong>, broke the news of her latest collaboration with Ann<\/strong> while discussing some of her current recording projects, including \u201cTomboy\u201d<\/strong>, which involves covering songs written by her male friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think right now I\u2019ve been working on \u2018Tomboy\u2019<\/strong> the most because I love the title, for one thing; it\u2019s almost like \u2018boy genius\u2019 or something,\u201d she explained. \u201cBut I\u2019ve got a bunch of new ideas for songs. But I\u2019ve also been writing new music with Ann<\/strong> too. So it\u2019s a real creative time. I think being on the tour right now, when I get home, I\u2019m gonna really dig into the other projects, including finishing some new material with Ann<\/strong>. So it\u2019s really a good time to be creative. And I\u2019ve got a new studio in my house, and so I can\u2019t wait to sort of run tape on stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asked if there is anything that she feels is really exciting because she feels it\u2019s something that\u2019s so different from what she\u2019s done before, Nancy<\/strong> said: \u201cYeah. Some of the stuff I\u2019ve been working on with Ann<\/strong> is like that. I\u2019ve also worked a bit with Sue Ennis<\/strong>, who used to work a lot with me and Ann<\/strong> for HEART<\/strong> music. And so I have some lyrics mainly that I worked on with Sue<\/strong> and took to Ann<\/strong>. And there\u2019s a couple of things that I\u2019m really excited about. Very cool. Like stuff that you wouldn\u2019t have heard us do in the \u201980s. [It\u2019s] closer to what you would have heard us originally do in the \u201970s, late \u201970s. So it\u2019s really fun. It\u2019s just exciting and inspiring.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nancy<\/strong> went on to say that she is really pleased to be collaborating on new material with her sister. \u201cIt\u2019s been a really nice kind of rediscovery of our relationship, working on music together again,\u201d she said. \u201cSo, yeah, I\u2019m really happy about that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last April, Ann<\/strong> denied rumors of a rift with Nancy<\/strong>. In an interview in the 300th issue of Classic Rock, Ann<\/strong> said that she was \u201cnot\u201d feuding with her younger sister. \u201cIt\u2019s a myth,\u201d she insisted. \u201cNancy<\/strong> and I are okay with each other. We just have different ideas for what HEART<\/strong> should be, and we haven\u2019t figured out a compromise yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFifty years on, I still want it to break barriers and rules, and she\u2019s more satisfied to ride the L.A. imaging thing and just do legacy stuff,\u201d Ann<\/strong> explained. \u201cSo that\u2019s a real split between us. Things like this will happen, though, but then they\u2019ll get better, and we\u2019ll love each other more.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Relations between the two sisters were considered to be at an all-time low after a much-publicized incident when Ann<\/strong>\u2018s husband was arrested during a HEART<\/strong> tour in 2016. But in an interview with Rock Candy magazine to coincide with the release of her solo album \u201cFierce Bliss\u201d<\/strong>, Ann<\/strong> said: \u201cThings happen in families. And that was a really good example of something that happened within a family, and we worked it out. But the part that made it hard was that it happened in the public eye. If it had happened privately, we\u2019d have got the family in a room and sat down and worked it out between us. Instead, the police were called, and this myth was born that Nancy<\/strong> and I were feuding, and we were at each other\u2019s throats all the time. And it\u2019s really not like that at all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A proposed HEART<\/strong> tour fell through in 2022 after the two sisters failed to agree on which backing band to use. Ann<\/strong> wanted her guys, Nancy<\/strong> didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2022, Nancy<\/strong> spoke to Joe Rock<\/strong> about why HEART<\/strong> had been inactive for most of the previous three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHEART<\/strong> had a big offer on the table [in 2021] for a bigger tour, but Ann<\/strong> wasn\u2019t interested in going out with my lineup of guys that we were out with before,\u201d she said. \u201cShe has a new lineup of guys that she wanted me to join up with. And I sort of [thought] I don\u2019t really know them and don\u2019t have loyalty yet for anybody like that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HEART<\/strong> toured North America in the summer of 2019 after the aforementioned nasty split that kept the Wilson<\/strong> sisters estranged for three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ann<\/strong> and Nancy<\/strong> had a falling out during HEART<\/strong>\u2018s 2016 tour, when Ann<\/strong>\u2018s husband Dean Welter<\/strong> was arrested for assaulting Nancy<\/strong>\u2018s then-16-year-old twin sons in a backstage altercation at a gig near their hometown of Seattle. He pleaded guilty to two lesser assault charges to avoid jail time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing HEART<\/strong>\u2018s 2016 tour, Nancy<\/strong> formed a new band called ROADCASE ROYALE<\/strong> and released an album, \u201cFirst Things First\u201d<\/strong>. ROADCASE ROYALE<\/strong> featured three members of HEART<\/strong> along with Liv Warfield<\/strong> from Prince<\/strong>\u2018s NEW POWER GENERATION<\/strong> band and her guitarist Ryan Wilson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Nancy<\/strong>\u2018s new band NANCY WILSON\u2019S HEART<\/strong>, she is joined in the group by her longtime collaborators, guitarist Ryan Waters<\/strong>, drummer Ben Smith<\/strong>, bassist Andy Stoller<\/strong> and keyboardist Dan Walker<\/strong>, along with powerhouse singer Kimberly Nichole<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
