After throwing him into the deep end with Opeth\u2019s intense \u201cGhost of Perdition,\u201d they\u2019ve now handed him an even bigger challenge: learn and perform RUSH\u2019s 20-minute prog rock epic, \u201c2112,\u201d in one sitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c2112\u201d isn\u2019t just any song \u2014 it\u2019s the full first side of RUSH\u2019s iconic 1976 album and a true test of skill for any drummer. The suite includes multiple sections like \u201cOverture,\u201d \u201cTemples of Syrinx,\u201d \u201cPresentation,\u201d and \u201cGrand Finale,\u201d originally performed by the late, great Neil Peart \u2014 widely regarded as one of the best drummers in rock history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nic had to tackle the entire suite (minus \u201cDiscovery,\u201d which has no drums), learning each part on the spot. The pressure? Very real. After practicing the parts, he delivered a killer full performance. Drumeo\u2019s Brandon Toews summed it up perfectly: \u201cNeil would be proud.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fans flooded the YouTube comments with praise, saying things like:<br>\u201cSo impressive, Nic! Learning any Neil Peart part is tough, but doing \u20182112\u2019 in under three hours?
