Sir Tom Jones, 80, has revealed his grief and guilt almost five years on from the death of his late wife Linda (Melinda) Trenchard. The Voice UK coach explained the loss of his spouse was \u201cthe lowest part\u201d of his life and left him wondering if he had \u201cdone enough\u201d to try saving her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Opening up on his heartbreak, Tom said: \u201cLosing Linda five years ago was the lowest part of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI honestly didn\u2019t think I was going to get through it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI had to go and see a grief therapist because I kept thinking, \u2018Did I do enough? Was I on the case? Did she slip away without me really realising what was happening?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut the therapist said, \u2018No, she had lung cancer, there is nothing you could have done\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Tom shared even now he feels Linda\u2019s presence, especially when he is on stage performing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He continued to The Guardian \u201cNow every time I step on stage, Linda is with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBefore she died, she said, \u2018Don\u2019t think of me dying, think of me laughing.\u2019 That\u2019s how I remember her.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The couple tied the knot in 1957 when they were only 16 and went on to have their son Mark Woodward later that year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Voice UK coach shared he had difficult days immediately after her death, where he struggled to even make it out of bed and didn\u2019t know whether he \u201cwould make it\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Tom told the Sunday Mirror: \u201cWhen my wife passed away \u2013 God bless her \u2013 I didn\u2019t know whether I would make it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere were days when I felt I couldn\u2019t get up, you don\u2019t want to get out of bed to start with.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After Linda\u2019s death in 2016, Tom left their \u00a36.5 million mansion in LA and returned to London where he bought a flat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was something he said his late wife had wanted to do in her final years but was unable to, due to her fear of flying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
April marks five years since Linda\u2019s sad passing, and it\u2019s evident Tom has never gotten over his childhood sweetheart\u2019s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He shared in a press conference for The Voice UK: \u201cWhen my wife was still alive, I would take the [The Voice] DVDs back to LA to show her the show.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
