This electric duo graced the stage at the 59th Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center in L.A. on February 12, 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The surprising collaboration between Lady Gaga and Metallica began at a casual dinner party at actor Bradley Cooper\u2019s house. Metallica\u2019s drummer, Lars Ulrich met Lady Gaga there and came up with a brilliant idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.sndcdn.com\/artworks-000210827047-uhlv21-t500x500.jpg\" alt=\"Stream moth into flame - metallica and lady gaga by N | Listen online for  free on SoundCloud\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ulrich recalled, \u201cI was at a dinner party [with Gaga] and we were sitting next to each other\u2026 and I thought, \u2018Wait a minute, this would be cool.\u2019 So I said, \u2018We\u2019re doing the Grammys in a couple of months, do you wanna join us?\u2019 and she immediately replied, \u201cYes, that would be great.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This led to the high-profile collaboration. Lady Gaga and Metallica performed an incredible live version of \u201cMoth Into A Flame\u201d on stage. Firstly, Laverne Cox, who introduced the performance, forgot to mention Metallica but later apologized for the oversight on Twitter. Metallica then faced microphone issues at the start of their performance, muting his powerful voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, thankfully, Lady Gaga\u2019s quick thinking turned a potential disaster into a memorable performance. She generously shared her microphone with Hetfield, transforming a technical issue into an intimate duet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Honestly, the brilliance of this performance lies in the imperfection caused by the mic failure and how Lady Gaga and James Hetfield adapted to it. The dress rehearsal was technically \u201cbetter\u201d, but it lacked the interesting spontaneity of the live performance.
