{"id":19458,"date":"2025-10-04T04:03:26","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T20:03:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/artgardenhub.com\/?p=19458"},"modified":"2025-10-04T04:03:28","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T20:03:28","slug":"the-ai-assassination-tupacs-estate-draws-a-line-in-the-sand-threatening-legal-war-over-drakes-alleged-ai-generated-diss-track","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artgardenhub.com\/?p=19458","title":{"rendered":"The AI Assassination: Tupac\u2019s Estate Draws A Line In The Sand, Threatening Legal War Over Drake\u2019s Alleged AI-Generated Diss Track"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tupac Shakur\u2019s estate is threatening to sue Drake over his recent Kendrick Lamar diss track, calling what appears to be the use of an artificial intelligence-generated version of the late rapper\u2019s voice a \u201cblatant abuse\u201d of his legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/artgardenhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17-1024x683.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artgardenhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17-1024x683.png 1024w, https:\/\/artgardenhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/artgardenhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/artgardenhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17-380x253.png 380w, https:\/\/artgardenhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17-800x533.png 800w, https:\/\/artgardenhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17-1160x773.png 1160w, https:\/\/artgardenhub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-17.png 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Drake&nbsp;released&nbsp;the track, \u201cTaylor Made Freestyle,\u201d on his Instagram page Friday, using AI software to generate verses emulating both Shakur and Snoop Dogg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a cease-and-desist letter Wednesday, Howard King, an attorney who represents Shakur\u2019s estate, requested that Drake remove the track from all platforms where it is publicly available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drake, whose legal name is Aubrey Drake Graham, has until noon Thursday to confirm his cooperation. Otherwise, the estate will \u201cpursue all of its legal remedies\u201d against him, according to the letter, a copy of which was obtained by NBC News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTaylor Made Freestyle,\u201d which is not yet on streaming services, is Drake\u2019s latest&nbsp;diss track&nbsp;against Lamar amid their feud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNot only is the record a flagrant violation of Tupac\u2019s publicity and the estate\u2019s legal rights, it is also a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time,\u201d King wrote in the letter, which was first&nbsp;reported by Billboard. \u201cThe Estate would never have given its approval for this use.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A representative for Shakur\u2019s estate had no additional comment. A representative for Drake declined to comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Drake Ft. Tupac &amp; Snoop Dogg - Taylor Made Freestyle (Kendrick Lamar Diss) (REACTION)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8GV70cfG4tE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The letter warned that Drake\u2019s nonconsensual use of Shakur\u2019s likeness violates Shakur\u2019s right to publicity, an intellectual property right protecting against the misappropriation of somebody\u2019s name or image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The track and its popularity have created the \u201cfalse impression that the Estate and Tupac promote or endorse the lyrics for the sound-alike,\u201d the letter states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shakur\u2019s estate seeks damages including all profits from the record, as well as additional damages for substantial economic and reputational harm caused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe unauthorized, equally dismaying use of Tupac\u2019s voice against Kendrick Lamar, a good friend to the Estate who has given nothing but respect to Tupac and his legacy publicly and privately, compounds the insult,\u201d King wrote in the letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The track was released&nbsp;about a month after&nbsp;Lamar took shots at Drake and fellow rapper J. Cole in a guest verse on the song \u201cLike That\u201d by rapper Future and producer Metro Boomin. His fiery verse stirred fan speculation about whether Drake would respond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drake fired back last week with his song \u201cPush Ups\u201d before he quickly followed up with \u201cTaylor Made Freestyle\u201d as a second diss track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/imagez.tmz.com\/image\/9a\/4by3\/2024\/04\/24\/9a18d220b34c4490bd368b5e057ed573_md.jpg\" alt=\"Tupac Shakur's Estate Threatens to Sue Drake Over AI Vocals in Diss Track\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKendrick, we need ya, the West Coast savior \/ Engraving your name in some hip-hop history \/ If you deal with this viciously \/ You seem a little nervous about all the publicity,\u201d the AI-generated voice of Shakur raps in the song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Snoop Dogg\u2019s AI-generated voice then joins in, taking over the second verse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2019Cause right now it\u2019s looking like you writin\u2019 out the game plan on how to lose \/ How to bark up the wrong tree and then get your head popped in a crowded room,\u201d the voice raps. \u201cWorld is watching this chess game, but are you out of moves?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A representative for Snoop Dogg did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Drake Ft.
