Their second chance at love led to marriage, but the relationship ended when Lopez filed for divorce in&nbsp;<strong>August 2024<\/strong>, as first reported by TMZ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, just over a year later, Lopez is reflecting on the end of that chapter in her life \u2014 and surprising many by calling the divorce&nbsp;<strong>\u201cthe best thing that ever happened to me.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"lopez-opens-up-in-new-interview\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Lopez_Opens_Up_in_New_Interview\"><\/span>Lopez Opens Up in New Interview<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview with&nbsp;<strong>CBS News Sunday Morning<\/strong>, Lopez explained why she views her breakup with Affleck as a positive step forward.<br><strong>\u201cBecause it changed me,\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;she said.&nbsp;<em>\u201cIt didn\u2019t change me, it helped me grow in a way that I needed to grow.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the filming of her upcoming movie,&nbsp;<em>Kiss of the Spider Woman<\/em>, Lopez was dealing with marital struggles behind the scenes. How do you reconcile that? But you get through it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She added that the experience forced her to reflect deeply on her life, leading her to greater self-awareness.<br><strong>\u201cI\u2019m a different person than I was last year,\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;Lopez said.&nbsp;<em>\u201cThis summer is probably the best summer I\u2019ve ever had.
