Rather than bristling at the suggestion, Avril laughed it off, saying she doesn\u2019t find it all that bad. In fact, she called it \u201ca good one\u201d compared to the stranger, darker conspiracy theories she could have been the subject of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.britannica.com\/59\/193059-050-219AF2CB\/Avril-Lavigne.jpg?w=400&amp;h=300&amp;c=crop\" alt=\"Avril Lavigne | Biography, Albums, Songs, &amp; Facts | Britannica\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When pressed about where it all began, Avril guessed the rumor probably started circulating around the time she released her second album. She also pointed out that she\u2019s not alone \u2014 other major artists have dealt with similar far-fetched fan theories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The podcast host described Avril\u2019s conspiracy as \u201ciconic\u201d before joking that she herself might have been the one who started it.
