During a&nbsp;<em>20\/20<\/em>&nbsp;interview, Allen admitted he had&nbsp;<strong>wrestled with faith for decades<\/strong>, questioning whether his prayers or presence could have changed the outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cFor years, I just did not like this idea of God, church,\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;Allen recalled.&nbsp;<strong>\u201cI was still a churchgoer, but constantly a cynic.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over time, Allen developed his own understanding of God, whom he now calls&nbsp;<strong>\u201cThe Builder.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cI always do ask The Builder, what did you want me to do? \u2026 But you got to be prepared for the answer.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From his father\u2019s death to&nbsp;<strong>his own arrest for drug possession<\/strong>, Allen has said these experiences shaped him with a sense of&nbsp;<strong>greater purpose.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cWhoever built me, this is too much, too weird that it happened by accident. In a powerful moment, she publicly declared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cThat man, that young man, I forgive him.
