Jeremy Asbrock, guitarist and vocalist for Ace Frehley\u2019s solo band, recently shared details about his final conversation with the late KISS guitarist in an interview with\u00a0Metal Mayhem ROC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The emotional revelation came when Asbrock was asked to share an untold story about his time with Frehley. His response highlighted the profound impact of their last exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked to share an Ace Frehley story that he hadn\u2019t told many times before, Asbrock provided a deeply personal account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOkay, this is pretty heavy, but it\u2019s still a story that I like to tell,\u201d Asbrock said. \u201cI talked to him on the phone 12 hours before he fell. This was after his first fall and I was just checking in because I had not talked to him since. You know he was doing good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asbrock continued to describe the conversation\u2019s positive tone and Frehley\u2019s plans for that evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe was going to an AA meeting that night and just like, \u2018Okay, well cool, man. I\u2019ll see you next weekend,’\u201d he recalled. \u201cWe got off the phone and he messaged me immediately. He said, \u2018Man, thanks for the call. It really lifted my spirits.\u2019 I said, \u2018Of course, man. I love you.\u2019 Then he messaged me back, you know, love you too, brother. That was the last thing I ever said to Ace. I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The guitarist reflected on how this final exchange changed his perspective on expressing affection to those close to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt made me not shy about telling people that more often because man, you never know when that\u2019s the last time,\u201d Asbrock concluded. \u201cI feel really good that the last thing I ever said to Ace and the last thing he ever heard me or read me say to him was, I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
