That bond looped back at the 2024 MusiCares gala, Jon crowned Person of the Year. Springsteen climbed onstage anew for “Legendary,” “Who Says You Can\u2019t Go Home,” and\u2014of course\u2014”Promised Land.” “Time collapsed,” Jon reflects. “Forty years on, and there he is, sharing the light.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bruce arrived fresh from burying his mom\u2014days after her passing. “Didn’t have to show,” Jon notes. “I’d have gotten it. But he did\u2014for MusiCares, for me. Unforgettable.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
