It\u2019s rare, however, to see global rock icons return to street performances\u202f\u2014\u202fbut U2 did just that during their appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fallon is known for orchestrating spontaneous, off\u2011the\u2011cuff moments with his guests. So when U2 visited the show, he dressed the band in elaborate disguises and stationed them undercover at New York\u2019s 42nd Street subway platform. Unbeknownst to commuters, a hidden camera inside Fallon\u2019s sunglasses\u2014humorously dubbed the \u201cU2cam\u201d\u2014captured the entire undercover busking act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"U2 Busks in NYC Subway in Disguise\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aluYo-FSqiw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Before launching into live music, Fallon, donning his own mayor\u2011of\u2011Manhattan garb, announced the \u201cnative New Yorkers\u201d as local street performers available to entertain at weddings, parties, or bar mitzvahs. The scene was set\u2014and no one suspected the legends were about to play themselves into oblivion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The set began with the iconic \u201cI Still Haven\u2019t Found What I\u2019m Looking For.\u201d For the first minute, passersby paid little attention\u2014mall\u2011rats in motion. But Bono\u2019s look-in\u2011the\u2011raw vocals inevitably began to draw a small crowd .
