Hospital administrators and community organizers have called the contribution \u201ca miracle in real time,\u201d citing the immense strain many healthcare facilities face in trying to provide quality pediatric care for families who are uninsured, underprivileged, or displaced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBecause of Ms. Alford\u2019s incredible donation, we\u2019ve been able to fund life-saving treatments that would\u2019ve otherwise been delayed or denied due to financial constraints,\u201d said Dr. Marissa Goines, pediatric oncology director at Michigan Children\u2019s Health Detroit. \u201cShe didn\u2019t just give money\u2014she gave time, she gave her voice, and most of all, she gave hope.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
