Stevie Nicks \u2014 mystical, iconic \u2014 stepped forward. But what stopped time was who stood beside her: Taylor Swift, barefoot, wide-eyed, holding nothing but a guitar and a quiet kind of reverence. Together, they began \u201cLandslide.\u201d No spectacle. No choreography. Just two generations, two hearts, and one song that felt like a prayer whispered through decades. Stevie\u2019s voice cracked like old wood. Taylor\u2019s rose like dawn. The crowd didn\u2019t cheer \u2014 they held their breath. And somewhere between the verses, time folded in on itself. It wasn\u2019t just a performance. It was a passing of the torch, a spell cast in harmony, and a reminder that some songs aren\u2019t just sung \u2014 they\u2019re lived<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After \u2018Today Was a Fairytale,\u2019 Swift is joined by the former Fleetwood Mac singer for \u2018Rhiannon\u2019 and \u2018You Belong With Me.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little over an hour after accepting the Grammy Award for Best Country Album, comparing the win to an impossible dream, Taylor Swift took the stage at the Staples Center to perform a medley of her own tunes, as well as a song from one of her childhood heroes, who joined her onstage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ditching her sparkling evening gown for a more casual blouse-and-jeans combo, Swift took center stage with her guitar strapped to her shoulder for \u201cToday Was a Fairytale.\u201d Swift then announced, \u201cIt\u2019s a fairly tale and an honor to share the stage with Stevie Nicks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former Fleetwood Mac singer then walked onstage. The two stood side by side, singing Fleetwood\u2019s \u201cRhiannon,\u201d at times a tad less harmonically than one would have hoped. Nonetheless, the women made for a compelling twosome, a portrait of two generations separated by years but drawn together by music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swift then grabbed her guitar for the third and final part in her medley, jumping into a twangy version of \u201cYou Belong With Me.\u201d Nicks stood back, tapping her tambourine and nodding in appreciation, every so often stepping up to the mic to share singing duties with the young artist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end, Swift and Nicks embraced. It would have already been a killer night for the 20-year-old singer: Before her Best Country Album win (Fearless), she notched victories for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song (\u201cWhite Horse\u201d). But there\u2019s a lot more still to come, including Swift\u2019s battle for Album of the Year against Beyonc\u00e9, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and Dave Matthews Band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
