Like much of the music world,\u00a0Miley Cyrus\u00a0is in mourning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two days after the singer\u2019s flight to Paraguay was\u00a0struck by lightning\u00a0on Wednesday, Cyrus, 29, learned that her friend\u00a0Taylor Hawkins\u00a0had\u00a0died just outside of Bogot\u00e1, Colombia, at age 50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyrus announced that she was dedicating her Saturday performance at Lollapalooza in Brazil to the late\u00a0Foo Fighters\u00a0drummer\u00a0in a tweet shared prior to the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTonight\u2019s show is in honor of my friend Taylor Hawkins. The most bad ass dude I know who would want me to shine and sing LOUD for the love of rock n roll!\u201d the \u201cAdore You\u201d singer wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got this with a little help from my friend TH above & all of you,\u201d she continued, adding, \u201clet\u2019s do it .\u00a0\ud83e\udd85\ud83d\udda4\ud83e\udd18\ud83c\udffb.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the set, Cyrus tearfully\u00a0paid tribute to Hawkins\u00a0with a performance of her 2020 song \u201cAngels Like You\u201d and a special speech honoring her late friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The singer\u2019s sister,\u00a0Brandi Cyrus, shared a clip of the tribute on her Instagram Story, showing Miley passionately performing the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe had to make an emergency landing, and the first person I called was Taylor because he was already at the festival and that would have been a time that I would have gotten to see my friend and I didn\u2019t,\u201d Cyrus said, according to\u00a0Entertainment Tonight<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Page Six. \u201cI would have done anything to hang out with him one more time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to Saturday\u2019s performance, Cyrus described the last few days as \u201creally emotionally and physically stressful\u201d\u00a0on Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyrus\u00a0said in another tweet\u00a0that she felt \u201cheart broken & \u2018human\u2019\u201d in wake of the tragic news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
