Three decades in, Foo Fighters<\/strong> are still finding new ways to honor their legacy\u2014and those they\u2019ve lost along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate their 30th anniversary, the band has released a brand-new track titled \u201cToday\u2019s Song\u201d, their first original material since 2023\u2019s But Here We Are, an album shaped by grief and resilience following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soft and reflective, \u201cToday\u2019s Song\u201d feels like a letter to time itself\u2014a meditation on change, loss, and the strength it takes to keep moving forward. And while the lyrics speak volumes, frontman Dave Grohl added his own voice with a deeply personal statement that looks back on the highs and lows of Foo Fighters\u2019 journey. Grohl wrote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOver the years, we\u2019ve had moments of unbridled joy and moments of devastating heartbreak.
\u201cMoments of beautiful victory and moments of painful defeat. We have mended broken bones and broken hearts. But we have followed this road together, with each other, for each other, no matter what. Because in life, you just can\u2019t go it alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Grohl also made it a point to thank past and present bandmates who\u2019ve helped shape their sound. Among them: William Goldsmith, Franz Stahl, and Josh Freese, who recently stepped away from the drum kit after joining post-Hawkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt should go without saying that without the boundless energy of William Goldsmith, the seasoned wisdom of Franz Stahl and the thunderous wizardry of Josh Freese, this story would be incomplete, so we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the time, music and memories that we shared with each of them over the years. He closed with a moving tribute to Taylor Hawkins, whose presence still resonates in everything the band does:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
