But in a recent candid interview, Sir Cliff Richard<\/strong>, Britain\u2019s original pop heartthrob and lifelong friend to many of his musical peers, finally opened up about a moment he witnessed behind closed doors \u2014 one that signaled the beginning of the end for The Beatles.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during a private Q&A session at a charity event in London, the now 84-year-old<\/strong> icon recalled being invited to a casual evening gathering at a London studio sometime in late 1969<\/strong>. While he didn\u2019t go into exact details, what he described left the room silent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was just a bit tense,\u201d<\/em> Cliff said carefully. \u201cJohn and Paul weren\u2019t speaking much. George was playing something quietly on his guitar in the corner, and Ringo\u2026 well, Ringo was trying to lighten the mood. But the spark \u2014 the one we all used to feel when they were together \u2014 it just wasn\u2019t there.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Cliff went on to describe a moment when John Lennon<\/strong>, in a low voice, said something that Cliff couldn\u2019t fully hear \u2014 but it prompted Paul McCartney<\/strong> to stand up, leave the room, and not return for the rest of the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI remember looking at Ringo,\u201d<\/em> Cliff added, \u201cand even he looked like he knew something had just broken. It wasn\u2019t a fight. It was quieter than that \u2014 which made it worse, somehow.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
