Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has died aged 71.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The WWE icon, real name Terry Bollea, passed away early Thursday morning after medics were dispatched to his Clearwater, Florida home, per TMZ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operators stated the call was in relation to a \u2018cardiac arrest.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police cars and EMTs were parked outside Hogan\u2019s home, with the reality star carried onto an stretcher and into an ambulance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shock death comes just weeks after his wife Sky denied rumors he was on his deathbed in a coma \u2013 and claimed his heart was \u2018strong\u2019 after he underwent a routine neck surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His representative said in a statement last month: \u2018He\u2019s had problems with his back for years but there\u2019s no emergency.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hogan had previously opened up about undergoing \u201925 surgeries in the past decade.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on Jake Paul\u2019s IMPAULSIVE podcast last year, he said: \u2018Ten of them were back surgeries. I\u2019ve had both knees and hips replaced, shoulders \u2014 everything.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The odd TV cameo came just over a month after his family became embroiled in a bitter public dispute after ex-wife Linda accused him of being \u2018complete liar\u2019 and \u2018sex addict\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 1980s, Hogan \u2013 known for his signature mustache and headscarf \u2013 was the driving force behind WWE\u2019s rise from a regional promotion around New York to an international brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He won at least six WWE championships and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hogan was the main draw for the first WrestleMania in 1985 and was a fixture for years, facing everyone from Andre The Giant and Randy Savage to The Rock and even company chairman Vince McMahon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hogan was also a celebrity outside the wrestling world, appearing in numerous movies and television shows, including a reality show about his life on VH1, Hogan Knows Best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2016, a Florida jury awarded Hogan $115 million in his sex tape lawsuit against Gawker Media. Hogan sued after Gawker in 2012 posted a video of him having sex with his former best friend\u00b4s wife. Hogan contended the post violated his privacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Radar, the audio featured him using a number of racist remarks in a rant about his daughter Brooke who was trying to launch a music career, to Heather Clem, the wife of a friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is reported to have said that \u2018a black billionaire guy\u2019 had offered to bankroll her, then speculated about her sex life\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hogan told Clem: \u2018I don\u2019t know if Brooke was f***ing the black guy\u2019s son\u2026 I mean, I don\u2019t have double standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in 2015, Hogan told Good Morning America he was at an all-time low as he begged his former legion of fans to take him back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Please forgive me,\u2019 the 12-time world champ pleaded \u2013 both to America as a whole and to his daughter Brooke Hogan, whose boyfriend was the focus of the then 62 year old\u2019s racist tirade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
