After their delightful kitchen cover sessions, Toyah and Robert Fripp recently reminded us of their professional musical prowess with a jaw-dropping performance at Fairport Convention’s annual Cropredy festival. The musical duo, known for their charming yet endearing covers, delivered an epic rendition of Led Zeppelin’s iconic track “Kashmir” that left the audience in awe.

But that’s not all – the cherry on top was having none other than Robert Plant himself in the audience, witnessing the musical magic

The setlist featured their signature twist on beloved classics, peppered with a trio of Toyah’s originals – “Thunder In The Mountains,” “It’s A Mystery,” and “I Want To Be Free.” However, it was the timeless hits that stole the show. From Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” each note resonated with the crowd. And then came the grand moment – a majestic version of Led Zeppelin’s masterpiece from “Physical Graffiti.”

As Toyah breathlessly introduced the forthcoming song, a sense of anticipation filled the air.

“We’re immensely proud of this next song,” she exclaimed. “It’s by someone we love to the moon and back. I’m not going to say any more, but my god the Midlands has produced some brilliant musicians.”

The stage was set for something remarkable

And remarkable it was. With a full band backing them, Toyah and Robert Fripp embarked on a musical journey that radiated power and presence. The performance was a force to be reckoned with, showcasing a level of authority that transcended their beloved Sunday Lunch videos.
