The Offspring Perform On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' - AXS TV

The Offspring have been making some of the catchiest punk rock the world has ever heard since they released their self-titled debut album in 1989. However, it would take some time for the band to find widespread recognition. That came in 1994 with the release of their hit album, Smash. Songs like “The Kids Aren’t Alright,” “Self Esteem,” and “Why Don’t You Get a Job?” propelled the band to stardom.

Earlier this week, The Offspring appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and performed their first hit single, “Come Out and Play,” for the show’s television audiences. Those who tuned into the show’s YouTube channel got the chance to see the band perform two more classics and a track from their most recent album, Supercharged. Watch them bring some 1990s nostalgia to Kummel below.

Those who grew up on The Offspring’s music will get exactly what they wanted out of the band’s performances. They have been playing most of these songs for decades and it shows. Dexter and the boys haven’t lost a step since they were ruling rock radio and MTV throughout the 1990s and the flawless “Come Out and Play” performance is proof.

The band played a four-song set for Kimmel’s audience, but only the first was televised. The rest of the band’s set was streamed live on the late night show’s YouTube channel. However, they were censored as if they were being broadcast on network television, with the sound cutting out to remove a few choice lyrics. For many viewers, this choice deepened the feeling of nostalgia.

The Offspring Have Had a Huge Year

The Offspring are still going strong. They released their latest album, Supercharged, last year, and it was an international hit, landing in the top 40 in multiple countries. The album peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart. Additionally, the lead single, “Make It All Right,” topped Billboard’s Alternative Rock, Alternative Rock Airplay, Active Rock, and Rock & Alternative Airplay charts.

They’re currently on their Supercharged Worldwide in ’25 Tour with Jimmy Eat World and New Found Glory. The North American leg of the trek kicks off on July 11 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
