Jelly Roll’s Goodnight Nashville: A Heartfelt Tribute to Bunnie Xo Shines on Lower Broadway

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Jelly Roll’s Goodnight Nashville, the newest gem on Lower Broadway, has quickly become a must-visit destination since its grand opening on February 21, 2025. The four-story venue, blending live music, bold cuisine, and personal touches, is more than a bar—it’s a testament to the country star’s journey and his love for his wife, Bunnie Xo. During a recent visit, Bunnie was visibly moved as she toured a dedicated floor honoring her, a space filled with tributes to their relationship and her career as a podcast host and internet sensation. The heartfelt gesture has captivated fans, making Goodnight Nashville a unique addition to Music City’s iconic strip.

The bar, opened in partnership with Evening Entertainment Group, occupies the former Trail West Boot Store space between 2nd and 3rd Avenue South. Since its soft launch in January, it’s drawn crowds with its rock ‘n’ roll vibe, featuring skull chandeliers, live band stages, and a rooftop with panoramic Broadway views. Yet, it’s the second floor, named “Bunnie’s,” that steals the show. Adorned with a larger-than-life portrait of Bunnie Xo above the bar, the space celebrates her role as Jelly Roll’s rock and her own success with the Dumb Blonde podcast. Personal touches, like lyrics from their shared journey and nods to her online presence, create an intimate atmosphere.

Bunnie, whose real name is Alyssa DeFord, was emotional during her tour. “I’m blown away,” she said in a video shared on Instagram, her voice cracking. “Jason [Jelly Roll] poured his heart into this for me. It’s our story.” The couple, married since 2016 after meeting at a Las Vegas concert, has faced scrutiny but remains unapologetically open about their bond. Bunnie’s floor features plush booths, a DJ stage, and decor reflecting her vibrant personality, from neon signs to playful references to her TikTok fame. Fans have praised the tribute, with @NashvilleVibes tweeting, “Bunnie’s floor at Goodnight Nashville is pure love. Jelly Roll’s a king for this.”

Jelly Roll, born Jason DeFord, designed the venue as a love letter to his family and city. The third floor, “Buddy’s,” honors his late father, Horace DeFord, with a cozy cocktail lounge, while the rooftop boasts a rotating skull chandelier and dishes like the “Losers Burger.” The menu, featuring Nashville Mac N’ Cheese and “Wild One” Wings, reflects Jelly Roll’s local roots. “This ain’t just a bar,” he said at the opening. “It’s Nashville’s soul, my family’s story.” The venue’s authenticity, as the first celebrity eatery by a Nashville native, sets it apart on Broadway’s crowded strip.

Bunnie’s presence at Goodnight Nashville has amplified its buzz. Known for defending Jelly Roll during his 200-pound weight loss journey and sharing their IVF journey, she’s a fan favorite. Her emotional reaction resonated online, garnering 1.5 million views. “Bunnie’s strength is why this place feels like home,” Jelly Roll told MusicRow. The couple’s openness—addressing rumors from open marriage speculations to his parole hearing—adds depth to the venue’s personal vibe.

Goodnight Nashville’s success, with private event inquiries flooding in, signals its staying power. “It’s a celebration of Jelly Roll and Nashville,” said co-owner Les Corieri. As Bunnie’s floor draws crowds, it underscores the couple’s enduring love, making the bar a pilgrimage site for fans. With Jelly Roll headlining Nashville’s first-ever rodeo in May, Goodnight Nashville cements his legacy as a Music City icon, where love and music collide.
