Jelly Roll has never been shy about sharing his own struggles with addiction, which is why his recent act of kindness at the Lasso Montreal country music festival moved thousands of fans.

In the middle of his performance, Jelly noticed a young girl holding a sign that read:

“MY DAD HAS BEEN SOBER FOR 1384 DAYS.”

The moment was picked up on the Jumbotron, and when Jelly asked if the girl’s father was at the concert, a teary-eyed man proudly raised his hand. That’s when everything changed.

Jelly Roll Leaves The Stage To Honor A Fan

Jelly Roll immediately stopped the show and said:

“I’m gonna come see this man right here. First of all, what a proud daughter, man. That’s a daddy-daughter moment I dream of right there.”

He then did something he rarely ever does—he walked off the stage, through the crowd, and straight to the man, later identified as Mike.

“I never do this, but this is just awesome,” Jelly Roll exclaimed as he embraced him in a heartfelt hug.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Jelly led a chant of Mike’s name, making the moment even more powerful.

A Song Dedicated To Sobriety

Before heading back to the stage, Jelly Roll decided to honor Mike even further by performing a song he hadn’t planned for the night.

“I don’t have a song about anybody being 1,384 days sober, but I have wrote a song about somebody experiencing their very first day sober and I wanna sing that for you tonight. So we can celebrate you… all 30,000 of us!”

Jelly then performed “Winning Streak” from his Beautifully Broken album, turning the night into an unforgettable tribute to resilience, sobriety, and the power of music.

Why This Moment Matters

Fans on social media praised Jelly Roll for stopping his show to celebrate another person’s journey, calling it one of the most emotional concert moments they had ever seen.

Jelly has long been open about his past struggles with substance abuse and how music helped save his life. By stepping into the crowd to recognize Mike’s achievement, he reminded everyone that sobriety is something worth celebrating—loudly and proudly.
