Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora, Phil X teaming up in Kings of Chaos
They’re giving Bon Jovi guitarists a good name.
Richie Sambora and Phil X, Bon Jovi guitarists past and present, will play with the Kings of Chaos supergroup Aug. 1 at the Aqua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California.
Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon), Jack Blades (Night Ranger), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Matt Sorum (Guns ‘N Roses), Mike Mangan (The Cult), and Eliot Lorango (Jerry Cantrell) will also be on stage “playing all the greatest songs from the members’ perspective bands.”
Sorum is the foundation of the group, which was formed in 2012 with rotating members.
Richie Sambora and The Crashers perform onstage at the 11th Annual Unbridled Eve Kentucky Derby Gala at The Galt House Hotel on May 3, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Phil X previously substituted for Sambora in Bon Jovi and took over the lead guitar duties in 2013 when Sambora exited the band. Sambora and Phil X once shared a stage with Bon Jovi together at the group’s 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
More recently, Sambora and Phil X joined up with Orianthi and Sorum in February 2025 at the Rock for Responders benefit concert in California for a rendition of “Livin’ on a Prayer,” which was co-written by Sambora.
Tickets for the Kings of Chaos show at Aqua Caliente Casino begin at $97. Visit www.aguacalientecasinos.com for more information.

In July, nine Bon Jovi comeback shows of the Forever Tour will take place at Madison Square Garden. The Jersey rockers, who include Phil X, announced an abbreviated international tour in October that begins with the Garden run and includes shows in Edinburgh, Dublin and Wembley Stadium in London.
The band has not toured since 2022. Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi had surgery on his vocal cords to correct vocal problems that go back a decade.
