Back To The Beginning has been a source of sadness for many fans, Judas Priest has proven that their devotion to the roots of heavy metal goes beyond any lineup. The legendary Birmingham band has released their version of ” War Pigs ,” the anti-military anthem that opens Black Sabbath ‘s classic Paranoid , as a tribute to the godfathers of this entire sonic monster called metal.

For years, the original War Pigs version played as the introduction to their concerts, a direct nod to their compatriots and brothers in steel. Now, the band has made it official: a powerful, solemn, and respectful recording. “We are honored to show our love for Ozzy and Black Sabbath with this tribute,” the band stated. “It’s a song we play at every concert around the world, and fans sing along passionately, reinforcing their love for the legendary Prince of Darkness .”

And this July 5th will be historic: Ozzy Osbourne , Tony Iommi , Geezer Butler , and Bill Ward —the original Sabbath lineup —will reunite on stage for the first time in nearly two decades. The Back To The Beginning event is more than just a concert; it’s a pilgrimage for every metal fan.

Judas Priest will not be able to join the party

The reason? No drama, just respect for the paths that cross. Judas will be fulfilling an equally legendary commitment: celebrating the 60th anniversary of the immortal Scorpions in Germany , a date that couldn’t be moved. Rob Halford , the iconic Metal God, confessed to being “gutted” by the coincidence, but made it clear that his spirit will be present. How so? With KK Downing , founding guitarist of Priest , who will be part of Sabbath ‘s journey , representing the historic connection between the two bands.

In a world where egos often speak louder than guitars, this gesture of mutual respect between two metal giants is a reminder of what truly matters: brotherhood, the history that unites us, and the music.
