The Beach Boys’ signature sound remains a staple on playlists at pool parties every summer. Brian not only impacted the lives of fans, but he also made a mark on the hearts of his fellow musicians. Sting adored Brian Wilson and wanted to honor the icon during a concert in Germany. The famed musician chose one of Brian’s most compelling hits and dedicated the song to him.

Sting Pays Tribute to Brian Wilson With 'God Only Knows' Performance

“Today, one of my heroes died, Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys, so I want to sing a song that I love,” Sting told the crowd.

Sting then began an acoustic version of God Only Knows that will bring a tear to your eye. The beautiful lyrics are a testament to how many feel about losing Brian Wilson, Sting most certainly included.

Fans thanked Sting for sharing Brian Wilson’s song.

“Thank you Sting – probably my favorite song of his. He was brilliant,” a fan wrote.

Sting’s performance evoked a beautiful memory for this fan. “When I was 5, my Auntie & Uncle took me to see them play a festival in ’75, and they sang ‘Help Me Rhonda’, RIGHT TO ME as I sat in my Uncle’s shoulder’s & cried tears of joy! One of my favorite memories!”
