Slash recently provided insight into the delays surrounding Guns N’ Roses’ long-awaited new album. He shared his thoughts in an interview with Audacy.
The guitarist addressed the band’s creative process and timeline for completing their next studio release.
“We’ve already written a ton of shit, so we just have to get together and actually get into the process of going through all the material and figuring out what the songs are gonna be and recording them and all that kind of shit,” Slash said. “And so that’s something that’s pending.”
He expressed optimism about the project moving forward in the near future.
“It’s probably gonna happen sooner than later, because we’ve gotten all this other stuff out and we’ve been touring for pretty much the better part of the decade,” he continued. “And so we’ve been wanting to do this.”
Slash emphasized that the main challenge is finding dedicated time to focus solely on the album.
“It’s just a matter of buckling down. When is that gonna happen, where we’re, like, ‘Okay, no other distractions. We’re just gonna do this.’ Anyway. But it’s coming,” he concluded.
The band has been actively touring throughout the past decade while working on new material behind the scenes.
Slash’s comments come at a particularly active time for the legendary rock band. They continue to build momentum toward their next major release.
Spectrum FM reported that the legendary guitarist confirmed Guns N’ Roses is moving toward crafting an entirely new record filled with original material. This marks a significant development for fans who have been waiting for fresh content from the reunited classic lineup.
The band has recently demonstrated their commitment to new music by releasing fresh material ahead of their upcoming tour schedule. Guitar World noted that Guns N’ Roses shared two new singles ahead of their 2026 world tour. This sparked speculation that the long-awaited studio album could be next.
These recent releases join “The General” and “Perhaps” as vital additions to setlists that otherwise feature classic hits. Ghost Cult Magazine revealed that these mark the band’s first releases since 2023. This indicates a renewed focus on creating new material.
The timing of Slash’s interview aligns with the band’s preparation for their extensive touring schedule. This has been a primary focus throughout the past decade. The balance between touring commitments and studio work continues to be the central challenge in completing their next full-length album.
